Using formatted tables in Excel is best practice. If you regularly overwrite data in a formatted table here is a quick way to clear the data before pasting in updated data.

To clear the data rows in a formatted table.
In a formatted table click a cell in the any data row.
DON’T click a cell in the header row!Press Ctrl + A
Press Ctr + - (minus)
Data cleared. This leaves a single row to paste in the new data. This retains any formulas you had in the formatted table.
Shout out to Alex Blakenburg on LinkedIn who pointed out an issue with table formulas and offered the solution. Thanks Alex.
